Orlebar Brown has launched on Edward Street Brisbane.

“Intrinsically British but ultimately international” is one of the mantras of Edward Street’s newest edition, Orlebar Brown. Launched in 2007 by founders Adam Brown and Julia Simpson-Orlebar, the brand specialises in mens resort and swimwear with a tailored twist.
Mr Brown is a photographer who dipped into the apparel market after discovering a lack of choice for male swim shorts that were tailored, sharp and high quality. Inspired by the 60’s when resort wear for both men and women had a high level of sophistication, with the ability to go from the poolside to a beach bar, this was the genesis of a new cult classic.
In recent years, Orlebar Brown skyrocketed to fame when Daniel Craig wore a pair of Setter style shorts as James Bond in Skyfall. Since then big names such as Jay-Z, David Cameron, Damien Lewis and David Gandy have been spotted wearing the brand. While the celebrity surrounding the brand made it instantly recognisable, the Orlebar Brown community extends beyond Hollywood. Their “OB Club” mixes all of their clients together to share the experiences of wearing their swimwear, sharing short stories and interviews of expeditions, travel and the calibre of clientele that Orlebar Brown cater to.
The brand has a strong international presence, with a hotel collaboration in the Maldives and a large fanbase in America and Europe. Building a presence in Australia, Orlebar Brown has an online store and boutique locations in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast and a new edition on Edward Street in the Brisbane CBD.
